Why Most Roulette Systems Fail

July 30th, 2010

There are plenty of people around the globe spending money buying roulette systems only to be left disappointed when they try it. I’ve decided to give my opinion on why most roulette systems fail in the long term.

Roulette has a house edge that is built into the layout of the game. It doesn’t matter what you bet on, how much you bet or what kind of betting pattern you use, the house edge is ever present with roulette and there’s no way to overcome it.

That is enough to cause most roulette systems to fail. Strangely however most roulette systems fail long before the house edge would kill them off because they don’t maximize a players odds.

The martingale roulette system where you double your bets each time you lose is a perfect example of a system that plays against the odds of the game. It often works over the short term which fools people into thinking that it works. The martingale is a complete failure because it’s inevitable that you will get a losing run (especially with online roulette) and this will take away any winnings plus your original bankroll.

This is the difference between the martingale system and the house edge. When you’re losing to the martingale you lose everything in seconds but the house edge takes much longer because at 2.56% it’s relatively small. Also with the martingale you are only ever going to win one betting unit even though you will be betting large amounts after a few losses.

Another reason for most system failing is because they’re based on previous spins. The theory behind these kinds of systems is that you should bet on a part of the table when it’s slept for a few spins. This doesn’t work, especially with real roulette wheels because the wheel has no memory.

Theoretically with online roulette you could use previous spins to predict the future because it’s a software program and it will do whatever it’s programmed to do. I should say however that while it is certainly possible to use past results to predict the future with online roulette it’s not very likely because it would take a lot of time and research over a lot of spins. These reasons are why most roulette systems will fail whether you’re playing roulette online or if it’s a real wheel.

How To Avoid Horse Racing Scams

February 20th, 2010

Today I am going to be speaking about horse racing betting software and why I think it doesn’t work at all. Sports betting systems are very popular and a lot of software programmers have joined the market by making software programs aimed at horse racing. The software applications themselves are always easy to use and well made. The systems coded into them however just don’t work, they are basically the martingale system. All you do with these software programs is enter the odds of the different horses into the software. Then the software calculates the best odds and tell you what to bet on. If don’t win the race you then pick another race and repeat the process. This time however the software will tell you to bet more on each horse. This an never ending loop until you start winning. This system doesn’t work because your bets become too risky after a couple of losses. This means you are having to place bets that you cant realistically afford just to cover your previous losses. If the thought of losing isn’t enough, the person that sells you the software is also highly likely to receive a commission on all the losses you encounter with the software. This is because they are an affiliate for the bookmaker. After you have paid for the program you will be sent to a download page. Once on the download page you will find links to different bookmakers as well as a link to the software program. To make sure that you click on them they will say something like “This bookmaker offers the best odds make sure you sign up right now.” . If you ever come across a system that is in a software format there is a very high probability that it is the kind of scam that I have just discussed. There is a horse racing system called Betfair Renegade which is nothing like other horse racing systems that I’ve tried. As the name suggests it is designed to work at Betfair because of the better odds that are on offer.

Sports Betting System Scams

December 31st, 2009

Today I am going to be speaking about sports betting system scams and bogus gambling systems as a whole. More and more gambling systems are being sold over the internet and a lot of them are bogus. The most common gambling system scams are horse racing systems. The aim of most websites that sell horse racing systems is to make money out of people when they buy the system and then when they use the system and lose. Let me explain this in more detail. When you buy the system you are then redirected to a download page. On the page where you can download the system you will find links to various online bookmakers. These links are affiliate links and this means that any money you lose will be shared between the bookmaker and the person that referred you. However when the affiliate refers someone that wins money they then have to give the bookmaker that money. With this in mind you will now understand why it is in the interests of the affiliate to give you a system that they know will lose so that they can make even more money out of you. If they had a winning system they would end up losing money because everyone would be signing up to the bookmakers and winning money. The truth however is that nobody is going to make money with these system because they are bogus and that is why the sellers make so much money. The system that many sellers give you is a simple software program that uses the martingale system. All you need to do with them is enter the odds given to each horse and then it tells you what to bet on. If you lose then you put the odds in of the horses on the next race and then it will tell you to bet larger amounts. Anyone with experience of betting on horses knows that these kinds of systems don’t work. If you buy a system only to find bookmaker affiliate links on the download page simply close the page and try and get your money back because you’ve been scammed.
